In this 3-week course we'll explore the wide-ranging impact yoga has on your well-being and all the parts of your health it touches. We'll dive into how it can support you through the different stages and seasons of your life, while addressing your unique health needs and interests.

Begin wherever you’re at and customize a path and practice to fit your life, your body, your goals, your schedule and your day. Each session will include learning about how the practice works, how it applies to you, course content to provoke insight, and yoga practice and breath work accessible for every level.

Week 2: Customizing Your Practice
Week 3: Strong You, Relaxed You
In this course you’ll learn the basic principles of how to sequence your yoga practice to support your daily needs, your seasonal needs and what’s happening in your life, and discover how ongoing development with classes and other forms of group practice will enhance your learning and understanding. We’ll explore a range of practices and techniques for both energizing and calming, learning how they can work together to create a balanced effect. You will also receive guidance and support from the teacher with ample opportunities to ask questions before, during, and after each session.
You don't need to be flexible or a 'yoga' type to benefit. This course is for beginners who are curious about launching their adventure into yoga and experienced students who are curious about endeavoring further. Have a friend who wants to try yoga? Share this course with them, they’ll love it!

Your Teacher
Deanna Oliphant
Deanna is the co-director of CIY and has a deep respect and passion for the tradition of yoga and the culturing of intelligence and wisdom in body, heart and mind. Deanna has been involved in the community and practicing for over 15 years. She continues her studies with Corine Biria, Jawahar Bangera, Ty Chandler and Sharoni Fixler. Deanna holds a Level 1 certificate completed through the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada (IYAC), mentored by Margot Kitchen and Sharoni Fixler. She served on the national Board of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada as Communications Chair. Her teaching style is vibrant, sincere and fun.
