Practice Weekend
with Ty Chandler + Sharoni Fixler
Friday, November 15 - Sunday, November 17
with a Teachers + Apprentices Day on Monday, November 18
“Thank you so much for an amazing weekend full of yoga! I’m so happy to have participated and I learned so much from both of you. I feel like I went as deep in 3 days as I do in week long retreats.”
The restorative practice on Friday evening will help counter stress and increase calm by focusing on ease and relaxation. Rejuvenating morning openings move the practitioner towards deep relaxation through postures that open the body. Pranayama gives awareness to the respiratory process while recognizing the connection between the breath, the mind and the emotions. Traditional asana are progressively introduced in the afternoon for energizing the body and mind.
This format asks us to meet ourselves through sustained practice, sequenced to progressively open the body through concentrated effort and awareness. In this practice weekend we aim to create daily structure, high quality Iyengar instruction and a supportive atmosphere and community.
This style of condensed practice gives time to consolidate what has been learned in technical study (classes and workshops). It helps a student break undesirable habits and establish positive ones. Through the process we face ourselves. We face challenges and we also unearth our sensitivity and our strength, our inspiration and appreciation through a committed journey.
✔find calm, recuperation + inspiration to take into your daily living
✔improve your flexibility, strength + balance
✔explore the healing aspects of the practice for injured, stiff + sore areas
✔improve your postural alignment + awareness
